From Minneapolis / St. Paul International Airport
The Normandy Inn & Suites is located 8 miles from the Minneapolis / St. Paul International Airport. There are several methods of transportation between the Airport and hotel.
- Hiawatha Line (light rail). From the underground station at the airport, purchase a ticket for $1.75 - $2.00. Take the train going to Minneapolis. Exit at the "Government Plaza" station located at South 5th Street and 4th Avenue South. Walk with traffic for 3 blocks along 4th Avenue South.. The Normandy Inn is on the left on South 8th Street at 4th Avenue South. The travel time, door - door, between the airport and the hotel is approximately 40 minutes.
- Taxi. Taxi fare is approximately $30 between the airport and downtown Minneapolis
- Super Shuttle / Coach USA. You can purchase a ticket from their desk at the airport. The fee is $16.00 per person each way. You'll get a $2.00 discount if you purchase your ticket on-line, in advance. Transportation from the hotel to the airport requires an advance reservation, and runs every 30 minutes.
- Driving. Driving between the airport and downtown Minneapolis takes a minimum of 20 minutes (late night and weekends). Driving may take 40 minutes, each way, at peak traffic times.
From Interstate 35W, northbound (From Kansas City / Des Moines)
- As you approach downtown Minneapolis, stay in the left lanes marked "Downtown Exits". Take the "5th Avenue" Exit. Proceed one block, and turn left onto South 9th Street. The hotel parking lot will be on you left.
From Interstate 35W, southbound (from Duluth / Iron Range Cities / Thunder Bay)
- Exit onto Washington Avenue. Turn right (heading into downtown). Turn left onto Portland Avenue. Turn right onto South 9th Street. Proceed 1.5 blocks, and turn right into the hotel
parking lot.
From Interstate 94, eastbound (from Fargo / Alexandria / St Cloud)
- As you approach downtown, take the "North 4th Street" exit. Follow 4th street through downtown. Turn right onto Portland Avenue. Turn right onto South 9th Street. Proceed 1.5 blocks, and turn right into the hotel parking lot.
From Interstate 94, westbound (from St. Paul, Wisconsin and Chicago)
- As you approach downtown Minneapolis, exit right onto South 5th Street. Follow 5th Street to Portland Avenue. Turn left onto Portland Avenue. Turn right onto South 9th Street. Proceed 1.5 blocks, and turn right into the hotel parking lot.
